Pyxis Helps Non-Profit Use E-commerce to Keep Lake Michigan Clean Kansas City, MO :: July 15, 2001 By adding e-commerce to their current site, Pyxis aims to give The Lake Michigan Federation a new revenue channel. By using a web storefront package developed by Pyxis, the non-profit organization was able to assure the new store could be created in their timeframe and budget. "Our e-commerce store front has all the tools they needed for one of their employees to run their store through a browser. They didn't really need any help from us once the store went live which helps them keep their costs down," said Sam Harper, CEO for Pyxis International. In addition, the new interfaces were designed to portray the image that The Lake Michigan Federation was after. "Within a month of Pyxis completing our Online store and site re-design, the Federation won an award and saw the number of viewers skyrocket," said Cameron Davis, executive director of the Chicago-based Lake Michigan Federation, a not-for-profit dedicated to protecting the largest lake within U.S. borders. "What impressed me most has been Pyxis' willingness to monitor the site and provide advice long after they had to."
